Founded in Ponda Town, Gurukul Academy is a full day English medium Co-ed school. It was established by our Founder Chairman Shri Santobarao Desai with a vision to provide affordable quality education. It was started with a vision to provide quality education keeping in mind the changing times the rapid change of joint families to nuclear family, and also in nuclear families Both the Parents sometimes need to go for job ,as such the child has to be kept with a maid at home .Gurukul Academy was better option ,with extended timings 8.45am to 4pm ,where the students do their academics as well as co-curricular activities under the guidance of the teachers . Then they are served nutritious meals in the afternoon, the toddlers have sleep area and after school, the students are dropped home in school bus with attendant in the bus. The School provides a congenial atmosphere like a home away from home. The Programme is total child care .with Holistic development of every student.

In 2011 the first batch had just 44 students with preschool and grade 1 in the first year which jumped to 150 students in the very next year. It was welcome option for working parents. The school academic year is from April to March and is divided into 2 terms as per the pattern prevalent in all English medium schools regular classroom tests and periodic assessments at the school level are indicative of scholastic achievement the results enable the teachers as well as students to reassess their orientation and take corrective measures if required to accord due attention to subjects and topics in which the child may need additional assistant apart from the unit test results of which are intimated to parents terminal examinations are organised twice each year half yearly examination takes place in September October while final exams are conducted in March every year.
